Taking tamoxifen to prevent breast cancer can save lives and money, study suggests

Tamoxifen, taken by certain women as a preventive measure against breast cancer, saves lives and reduces medical costs, a new study suggests. The study’s results suggest that the benefits of tamoxifen to prevent cancer can sufficiently compensate for its side effects in post-menopausal women under age 55 years who have an increased risk of developing breast cancer.

Study Shows Treatment With Eribulin Extends Lives Of Heavily Pre-Treated Breast Cancer Patients Compared With Treatments Of Physician’s Choice

Extending the lives of women who have had extensive treatment for breast cancer that has spread is not a lost cause, conclude authors of a study published Online First in The Lancet.
